September 20, 2007: Enterprise Content Management (ECM) provider, Objective has commenced formal due diligence on the potential acquisition of Brisbane based ECM provider, Avand.

The due diligence process involves a potential acquirer evaluating a target company and its assets for acquisition. This means Objective are determining whether or not the acquisition is in the best interest of the company. Objective formally listed its due diligence commencement with the Australian Stock Exchange yesterday and expects to complete it sometime in October.

A spokesperson for Objective said that due to the terms and conditions of the due dilligence process they were unable to disclose any details

Objective has become a key player in the ECM market and the acquisition, if it were to go ahead, would provide a strong channel for growth in Australia as the combined resources of Objective and Avand came together.

Objective has been around since 1987 and originated in Australia, providing Government and Top 1000 Corporations with products and services throughout this time. Objective is now a global company delivering solutions throughout Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

Before January of 2006, Avand was actually known as Advanced Data Integration. The company’s rapid growth and the desire to push past its limitations saw the company hire more then a dozen personnel and change their name to Avand to support the new push.
